Yule: The Night of Mothers and Ways to Celebrate

Ashlie Season 4 Episode 97

Send us a text

On December 21st, we experience the shortest day and the longest night. Yule or the Winter Solstice, also known as the Night of Mothers, is a time of celebration, generosity, and reciprocity. This day promises the Sun's rebirth and renewal and the cycles surrounding life.

However, Winter still speaks to the energies of the Crone, Death, and the Storm. On this day of the Pagan Wheel of the Year, we need to pay homage to the darkness, as we look to the coming light and warmth of Spring and Summer.

In this episode, I discuss what I believe are the sacred teachings of Yule, a brief history of this sacred day from different cultures, locations, or groups of people, and ways to celebrate this day today.
